چکیده

The aim of this work was to study the corrosion behavior a Fe-Cr-Ni alloy (310 H stainless steel) in water at supercritical temperature 550 °C and pressure 250 atm for up 2160 h. At temperature, is highly aggressive environment, structural materials used water-cooled nuclear reactor (SCWR) critical problem. Selecting proper candidate one key issue development SCWRs. After exposure deaerated water, oxides formed on 310 SS surface were characterized using gravimetric analysis, metallographic electrochemical methods. Gravimetric analysis showed that, due oxidation, all tested samples gained weight, oxidation 310H steel follows parabolic rate, indicating that it driven by diffusion process. data obtained microscopic metallography concord with those show layer has growing tendency time. same time, results impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements indicate best resistance Cr, (Fe, Mn) Cr2O4 developed after h oxidation. Based obtained, strong correlation between methods found.

A Critical Assessment of First Principles Inputs for Modeling RIS in Austenitic Fe-Cr-Ni Steels

Radiation induced segregation (RIS) in austenitic Fe-Cr-Ni steels is a widely studied but incompletely understood process important for reactor components. Experimental studies have shown that Cr depletes strongly at grain boundaries, giving rise to corrosion resistance issues. Various research throughout the years has produced models that make specific assumptions about the dominant mechanisms...

Constitutive Relationship Modeling and Characterization of Flow Behavior under Hot Working for Fe–Cr–Ni–W–Cu–Co Super-Austenitic Stainless Steel

The hot deformation behavior of a Fe–22Cr–25Ni–3.5W–3Cu–1.5Co super-austenitic stainless steel was investigated using isothermal compression tests with a wide range of temperatures (1173–1373 K) and strain rates (0.1–10 s). The results showed that all the flow curves gradually turned to balanced stress state without notable peak stress characteristics during the entire deformation, which indica...

Thermally activated growth of lath martensite in Fe–Cr–Ni–Al stainless steel

The austenite-to-martensite transformation in a partially hardened stainless steel containing 17wt %Cr, 7wt %Ni and 1wt % Al was investigated with Vibrating Sample Magnetometry and Electron Back-Scatter Diffraction. Magnetometry demonstrated that measurable martensite formation can be suppressed on fast cooling to 77K as well as on subsequent fast heating to 373 K. Surprisingly, martensite form...
